Time flies when you are having fun

On December 3rd 2019, the Playstation will be celebrating 25 years of home entertainment. Yes! Already 25 years, since the Playstation game console appeared in Japan, just before taking on the world.

The PlayStation brand has been a symbol of console gaming for multiple generations, parents who played on the first console can now see their own children enjoying videogames now on the PS4. The original console sold over 100 million units world wide, therefore they must had been doing something right. Yes there is always room for improvement, but we can see that it grew and with the addition of the camera, the PS Move controller and the PSVR, the future is looking bright.

When we got the PlayStation in our house it was with the game Fade to Black from Delphine Software, with the original PS controller which did not have the DualShock nor the 2 thumb sticks. Ever played on the original PlayStation? What was your first game?

This whole week will be on this phenomenal achievement, and we re all invited to share in the festivities on Playstation Blog. Congratulation Sony on that milestone and thank you for keeping us entertained for this long.

  1. Ah, the original PS. My first console since the Super Nintendo. Wrecked my college grades, that console. I have fond memories: jump-scares in RE2 (thanks for the stains on my couch, Sony), nights yelling with my friends on Tekken 3 (Martial Law 4life!), of course FF7 and FFTactics… That little white console rekindled my love of games that lasts to this day!
