Have I seen this before?

Concord, the third-person shooter was released on August 23. The game developed by Firewalk Studios is available on the PS5 console as well as on PC.

A little déjà vu

The game has a I don’t know what, which is strangely similar to other games of the same type. To put my comment in plain language, it’s a bit like Destiny and Overwatch had a baby. Visually speaking, the environment and costumes are closer to Destiny, but the characters and some of their powers are more Overwatch oriented. Honestly, the three games have great similarities.

Who are you?

As crew members of the Northstar, you have finally been awarded the title of Freegunners. This illustrious team is composed of: Lennonx, Haymar, Stellos, U-N1C, Vale, Jabali, Roka, Daveers, Teo, Daw, Duchesse, Bazz, Kyps, Emari, Lark and It-Z. Each with their own strengths and weaknesses. This playable character sampling is both a blessing and a curse. As in most online fighting games, some players have an uncanny talent to quickly discover the best characters and develop their skills well, often at the expense of less experienced players.

Did you try it?

During the beta testing of the game, it was possible to invite four friends to discover the game, at that time the content was very limited, which seems to have had a negative impact on it. So the number of players jumping into the arena is much lower than anticipated.

Final note

For evaluation purposes, the game was tested on the Sony PlayStation 5 console as well as on PC. Copies of the game were courtesy of Sony Interactive Entertainment. Concord is nothing new and its lack of solo play to develop ones skills with a character is a big weakness, of this game. The game could have used a solo campaign with each characters, much like Agents of Mayhem. This game is just Lukewarm.
