Less thorns, more time
Disney Dreamlight Valley reduced night thorn spawning is not a joke or a glitch. Since the last update the amount of night thorn generated daily was reduced from 10 to 8. That update was applied around December 17th.
Holding player captive
At first it may seem insignificant the change from 10 to 8, but any player trying to get the Thorn Cleaner achievement, this just made it longer to attain. As you need to remove 3000 night thorn to get it. A quick calculation and it would require 300 days under the old spawning rate. with the new rate, it will take 375 days to receive it.
Aware, but no patch announced
When contacted, the Gameloft customer support line response is ” You must have made changes to your time settings”. We definitely did no such things and as we can see from the quantity of comments online, we are not the only ones affected by the issue.
Strange timing
It is strange that the issue occurs not long after the release of the Rift in Time DLC for the game. Since everything is time based for completion in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Reducing the spawn rate of items required for completion is not good. Blaming the user for changing their time setting is no way to gain the players trust.
To complete, or not to complete?
For those working to attain all the trophies a game has to offer. Getting on the DDV train, is a long term commitment and one needs to think twice now to get on board. I personally calculated that by the end of January I would have obtain the last achievement, but with the modification in the game, I will have to hold until the end of February. That is if I do not miss a single day, otherwise it maybe done only in March. For those like me, who are close, just hang in there. But one thing for sure, I will not be checking the DLC for this game
