Will you be honorable?

Ghost of Tsushima at first glance is a fighting game like many out there and to some extent  it could be easily compared to an Assassin”s Creed franchise game. But upon closer inspection you can realize that the game is more, not only is it a video game but it could also be considered an homage to Akira Kurosawa, the film maker. You can already see in many social media, people taking full advantage of the photo mode to demonstrate the imagery of Ghost of Tsushima.

Gameplay Flaming Hot

The game play is more complex than a simple hack and slash game, as there are a selection of combat stances that can be applied and each is more effective against a certain type of enemy. there are different levels of difficulties and you can definitely see how challenging the level selected is when you enter a duel. Should you get to a duel and be unable to beat your opponent after a few tries, the game will offer to lower the difficulty level. The game is mostly open world, only is certain scenario will you be restricted to a specific area.

Graphics Solar Flare

The graphics for the game are simply stunning, and you can even select the Kurosawa version which will make the graphics look like an old black and white film and to get the old cinema feel, you can also turn on the subtitles. The cut-scenes are really like looking at an old movie and can even recognize some of the actors.

Storyline Flaming Hot

The scenario of the game is based on a Mongol invasion of Japan. There are some cultural references like the great Genghis Khan of even the Chinese Sun Tzu for philosophy in the Art of War. The game is not made to be history accurate, but uses elements of the Japanese culture and the samurai code of conduct to weave a story that holds well and can feel legitimate for players.

Sounds Hot
Music often is set to the background noise and only serves the purpose to set the mood for players. This one also includes the possibility to play the flute and you can discover new tunes to play as long as you discover the amount of signing crickets required to unlock it. The surrounding sounds and the setup at the beginning of the game can make a difference in Ghost of Tsushima.

The overall note for this game is 5 Alarm Fire, the replay value with the multitude of places to explore, side quests, mythic quests, a selection of upgrades to your armors and your weapons. For review purpose a copy of the game was provided by Sony Interactive Entertainment of Canada. the game sessions were done on a PS4 with headset. Again referring to the quality of the graphics I can only imagine what the game looks like on a PS4 Pro or how it will look on the PS5. Looking for a game that has depth of culture from the East, Sucker Punch Productions delivered. Will you live by the Samurai code or will you do everything in your power to protect your land and chase the invaders? The game is available since July 17th.
