Will you be invincible?

In Batman Arkham VR, it was virtually possible to step into the shoes of billionaire Bruce Wayne and put on the cowl and be the Batman. With Marvel’s Iron Man VR from Camouflaj, you can now be another billionaire, in none other than Tony Stark the red and gold armored Avenger. As of July 3rd, you too could be flying around as Iron Man.

Honestly, if the game was just flying around in the Iron Man armor and fight, many players would have been satisfied and me as well, but it is not the case, Camouflaj went and placed so much fun interactive stuff in the game that it is very impressive.

Gameplay Flaming Hot

The game is not just an armored combat simulator, it puts you virtually in the skin of Tony Stark, as the inventor as well as the armored superhero. As stated previously the game content is not just based on fighting, but you can also explore the living quarters of the billionaire. Check out the fridge content, have a drink , pick up a book, read some files on a tablet and even have a virtual bite to eat. Many of these interactions with the environment have no impact on the success or failure of missions, but they make the game more complete and they add a depth to it. When it comes to VR, the intensity of a game will often let you rely on reflexes, this is one of the difficulties of this game, as you have this 360° view of everything, your instincts will have you physically turn and not rely on the quick turn buttons on the controllers. Remember that the headset is still attached to the PS4 with a cable, so be careful not to get tangled. My suggestion is to play a few sessions sitting down, this will prevent you turning your body and develop the habit to use the sharp turn buttons.

Storyline Flaming Hot

It is based on a comic book character, so don’t expect a deep, meaningful plot. It is the genuine bubble gum comic book story that one would expect from it. It is not simple, it is exactly what a comic book reader would expect, but this time you are part of the story and yes there are a few pages to turn.

Graphics and sounds Warm

The graphics and sounds have a Saturday morning cartoon feel to them and look exactly how your cartoon would look on Saturday morning if they were in 3D.

Replay value 5 Alalrm Fire

The game as a great replay value, not only does the visual customization is fun,  and who would not want to try to unlock all of the armor looks, but also the selection of weapons and support attachments can be tailored to your style, or you can try to find what is the best setup for every mission. Of course, there are also the difficulty levels. Even trying to break or match any of the challenges time. The game can be played for hours on hours with different things to try and discover.

For review purposes, the Marvel’s Iron Man VR game copy was provided by Sony Interactive Entertainment Canada, the game was played using the PSVR version 2 and a PS4 console. The game is currently  available for 49.99$ or for 449.99$ with the PSVR in a bundle.

Overall the game is fun and challenging and it is Flaming Hot
