Spreading the good news
With the pandemic and the social distancing, the gaming world was in shock, what would become of the yearly E3 in California if gatherings are no longer allowed? The answer came on may 1st from Geoff Keighley when he announced Summer Game Fest.
What is Summer Game Fest? First it will replace E3 2020, without being E3 2020. Instead of being a few days event the Summer Game Fest will run from May 1st to August 24th. Contrary to the E3 where it is mostly announcement of new games and release dates, Summer Game Fest will also include playable demos, in game events and added content to some current game. Yes, there should also be announcement of release dates and new game presentations. the concept will be more akin to the current presentation done by Nintendo, Playstation and Xbox. Many studios, publishers and editors are taking part of this. Another sign that the gaming community is capable of acheiving great things with collaboration. As this will be running for an extensive amount of time the event is set in phases. Taking a closer look at the phase 1 lineup, we can see that some of the big names are ready to start this with a bang!
The schedule is set to be published on May 5th. checkout the Summer Game Fest website for more information and register to receive alerts. Not all the names are in that line, not to worry this is only phase 1 and there will lots more to come. There is hope after all, happy gaming and on this day May the Fourth be with you!
