Without directions
Unknown 9: Awakening, the game, is available since October 18th. The first of Montréal’s Reflector Entertainment studio who joined Bandai Namco Europe.
Synopsis
You are Haroona, a young woman from the Quaestor group with the ability to travel in the Revers. This mysterious dimension that is joined to ours. During the quest, you will learn how to manipulate these links according to your needs. After your mentor’s disappearance, you are looking for the person responsible for this act with a taste of revenge. Although this person is the head of an organization called the Ascendants, and Haroona, who is hunting, quickly becomes a prey.
Eye catching
On the visual aspect, the game is well done, even stealthy attacks give more than just the effect of seeing the enemy being put out of action. The details of the scenery are also complex and well defined.
Full of lore, yet
The Unknown 9 universe is vast and complex, with novels and comic books. Since there is a lot of content available to make a video game, it seems that what is presented in this first game, is only a tiny part of what is available. Will the franchise survive this first release?
A dictated path
Vast are the places we are presented in this game. A big flaw is the lack of latitude, the path to take is already mapped out and despite the few choices that are offered to us, the line to follow is there. Sometimes the whole thing is not clear and with no indication, finding out which way to go is simply not obvious.
Final note
were conducted on the PS5. The game is also available on PS4, Xbox One and Xbox Series S | X and as well as PC on Steam. This game is definitely LUKEWARM and unless it becomes a cult classic I fear this will only be the one game for this IP, but to continue in that world, there are book to enjoy.
