Sure to make your head spin

Available since June 19th for the Nintendo Switch, this of the wall motorcycle racing, acrobatics, this most cartoonish game is called Urban Trial Tricky and the only live place you can see as many crazy and funny stunts would be at a Travis Pastrana’s Nitro Circus event.

At first glace the game appears to be quite simple, like jump around on a motorbike and pull some jumps and do the required figures. I also believed it was simple and I got hook. I manage to drain the charge on my Nintendo Switch on several occasion. Because I used the Switch in portable mode for this review, and the game got me hooked, the only time I took a break from was to recharge the console.

Game play 5 Alarm Fire
The simplicity of the controls and the fluidity of the images makes this game very addictive. The backdrop of the action is so cartoonish that it blends well with the feel of the whole game. You can’t take this game seriously by the looks of it, but that is one way the game pulls you into it. The basis of physics are so well applied, and let me tell you, inertia in this game is for real. The is enjoyable in the portable format, so the owners of the Nintendo Switch Lite will also be able to play this one without straining their eyes.

Graphics Flaming Hot
The visual aspect of the game is actually one of its charms, the cartoon background, the motorcycle and the rider multiple attires make this game very pleasing to the eyes. When you start unlocking the crazy outfits the game reaches a whole new level of enjoyment. it becomes funny and even if you do not succeed the challenges it is not frustrating because most of the falls are our own doing and the are quite hilarious sometimes.

Music and sounds Warm
The music and sounds are barely noticeable, so much of your attention is spent on timing your jump and figures correctly that the game would be muted and you would probably not realize it, the only thing that can get to you after a while is the repeating quote for each crash. If there are different lines for crash I apologize to the developers, but in my case I got the same one over and over again, and believe me when I say I have crashed quite a lot.

Urban Trial Tricky is the latest addition to the Urban Trial franchise and I hope it will not be the last one. The review copy was provided by Tate Multimedia, the studio behind the game. This is one of those gems that you would probably not have noticed, being from an indie studio, like most game from them, it offers so much more for so much less. Save your money and give Urban Trial Tricky a chance, but be warned once you start you won’t want to stop.

Overall this game is Flaming Hot, just on the simple entertainment value of it. Should you like this game, check out Tate Multimedia.
