Lee Cronin’s The Mummy will arrive in cinema on April 17th to wrap the viewers in a perfect mix of horror, gore and grotesque humor. You will laugh, you will be shocked, you will on the edge of your seat.
Synopsis
Reporter Charlie Cannon with his wife and 2 children live in Cairo Egypt while he is on assignment there. When he is on a call in the house, his daughter is in the garden when she is approached by the mother of her friend Kayla. Charlie comes down to the garden on to find that his daughter Katie is missing. The shocking kidnapping forced Charlie and the rest of the family to return home to Albuquerque, New Mexico back in the USA. Eight years will pass until the family receives a phone call from the United States officials in Egypt, informing them that their daughter was found and is alive.
Not his first rodeo
Lee Cronin is not afraid to take on subject that were produced in the past and give it his personal touch. Back in 2023, he did Evil Dead Rise, which respected very well the theme. In this one he tackles a well known Hollywood monster, and gives it a truly horrific twist. Like in his previous project, gore is very present and so is some very dark humor.
Final note
Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is the horror movie that this old monster from Egypt deserves. It come with a new twist that fans of horror movies should appreciate. With Names like Warners Bros Pictures, New Line Cinema, Atomic Monsters and Blumhouse the resulting movie did not disappoint hoping to see more of the classic monsters brought back to life on the big screen with a new perspective. This movie is HOT.
