Inspiration
The Montreal ComicCon 2026 was held at the Montréal Palais des Congrès the weekend of July 3rd to the 5th. This year the fans were blessed with the presence of mutiple voice actors and comic book artists.
Sums it up
There is one word that represent this year to me and that is inspiration. That came from many sources, the craftmanship of cosplayers, the young kids doing cosplay, video games in the Loto Québec indie section, showing the talent of local video game creators. But the highlight of my weekend has to be the Troy Baker Q&A, his talks about honesty and being true to oneself and not letting fear rule ones life, to go for your dreams and one day be that person on the stage inspiring others was perfect.
New beginning
This year the Montreal ComicCon changed the opening, instead of having the members of the Media attend a meet and greet, and actual opening ceremony was plan and open not only to members of the press but also to the fans who purchased VIP and Deluxe passes. It opened with a short presentation from members of Cirque du Soleil ECHO show, followed by the introduction of cosplayers, judges for the Masquerade, Naheulband, comic book artist, voices actors and some of the celebrities that will be present for the con. The ceremony was concluded by the cutting of the ribbon by none other than Robert Englund.
Final note
the Montreal ComicCon 2026 as per the previous years is the gathering of fans of Pop Culture. Should you enjoy taking pictures with cosplayers, attending the celebrities Q&A or meeting them while getting and autograph with or without a selfie, it is all up to you. The adventure is one for the whole family, and this is even more noticeable by the presence of complete family in costumes.
