Finding some scientists being held hostage in a secret facility you decide to help them escape even when Thea the super computer calculates your chance of success, 1 in a million. Your reaction in the face of danger has made you noticed by MI6, which upon your return home, decides to give you a chance to be a member of the 00 agents. Your first mission will take you on a chase of a rogue 00 agent.

Movie like

Even if it is not Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, George Lazenby or Pierce Brosnan, the IO Interactive representation of James Bond is excellent, enough that the game feels like you are playing a movie. The gadgets, the fights and gunfight sequences, and let’s not forget the Bond Girls. Even the cinematic intro to the game with the song by Lana Del Ray is Bond movie style.

Roots

While respecting the James Bond character, the game developers also stayed close to a recipe that has work in the Hitman video game franchise, which is to give the player multiple way to solve certain situation. You can bluff your way in restricted area as well as simply walking away. The limit of gadgets that you are able to carry will also help you decide which action you will take.

Final notes

James Bond First Light is the best representation of the beloved spy we have had in a long time, and I O Interactive was the perfect studio to bring him back to life. I just wished they had done so sooner as this game is FLAMING HOT . I tested the game on the PS5 and it is short, after 27 hours I had completed the main story, but with the TacSim, I am still able to play the game and discover new content until more comes out. With the rights to the IP being owned by MGM / Amazon, I do hope they work with IO Interactive to help them continue work on this franchise.
