A history lesson almost
The Star Wars Universe always had some elements of the WWII German army. The Stormtroopers, the helmet of Darth Vader even the officers uniforms had some resemblances. So like there were Nazi hunters after the Second World War, its sort of makes sense to have ex-Empire officers being hunted by the New Republic.
Messages
One element always present in the Star Wars Universe, is family. There were Luke, Leia and Anakin, before Anakin and Padme, Even Obi-Wan and Anakin. And this latest movie is not different, you have the Mandalorian and Grogu, a surrogate father and son duo. Family is woven in the Star Wars universe, so that relation fits in perfectly. The morale of protect the young, don’t judge by size, never give up are again present and appropriate.
Final Note
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu did not feel like a movie, I had the pleasure of seeing that movie with members of the 501st present, and everyone knows that they know their Star Wars. But it felt more like I binge watch 4, 30 minute, episodes of season 4 than a movie at the theater. Seeing anything with some spaceship combat is always better on the big theater screen, but I believe that will still be enjoyed by fans when presented on Disney +. The movie deserves a HOT note, but I wished for more.
